Swamp Thing, Black Orchid, Amazon Forest and COP30
One of the side effects of having my work published without pemission, besides personal damage, is loosing control of its use, thus increasing the planet's production of garbage, literally speaking, I wouldn't say this about my own creation. I've been spreading the word about recalling my intellectual property, but none of the editors have contacted me so far. When they do (I'll inform it here), one thing I want is to secure a deal regarding licensing.
In those last recent years, environmental awareness became serious concern as I saw live some strange fruits that looked like out from of one the Swamp Thing's stories. Swamp Thing(Gillian/Moore) is one of the characters I'd like to publish again because I remember how it had a environment preservation awareness effect, maybe greater than any positive campaign would; many people are moved only by fear.
I've created Swamp Thing when Dave Gibbons had came up with a plot about a group of ambientalists in Louisina's swamps. He was reading some alarming news about genetic modification and radioactivity effects. Inspired by the radio novel War on Worlds, about alien invasion, which I haven't actually heard yet (the movie version is a whole new thing), I started improvising the opening narration for the first Swamp Thing story created, with Abby(Gillian/Gibbons) as supporting character. DC's website itself is now creating a new hoax about its first appearance; they say 71, which is impossible, it's about 10 years after than that.
From about the same period is Black Orchid(Gillian/Gibbons), who owns its name to a alleged(I'm not a botanist) variation/species native from Amazon forest, and it's another one I'd like to retake/rework. Its first story's script was also written by me, with art of Dave McKean. By the way, Wikipedia is so full of incorrect information that one wouldn't know even where to start, and since they don't serve their primary purpose, better end their activity, but worse than that, DC's website presented its reprinted cover with my name removed and substituted by Neil Gaiman's!? I think he hasn't even appeared in comics when it was first published. Back to the forest, In Amazon region, COP30 has just finished this last weekend after two weeks of proposals and debates, but exactly one month before it Brazil approved a new law that, even with some vetoes, allows Amazon's devastation area to increase considerably.
A new series of Acquaman(Gillian/Gibbons) is also on my plans. I took a bit of inspiration from the character of the planetologist from Dune for its revamped version, who made his first appearance on the Justice League film. Its teaser's screenplay is also mine, and my original intention was making one individual teaser portraying each superhero, followed by teasers of them working in pairs, and so are the layouts for posters' artwork for the film promotion, all done shortly after I wrote the screenplay of Batman vs. Superman.
This mention of superheroes reminds of America and Democracy and, in talking about that, when people take credit for other people's work and intellectual property, or spread false information regarding their true authors or dates to the present day what they're actually doing is perpetuating dictatorship crimes.
